In 2011 the Alabama Public Health Association honored Dr. Moody with the Ira L. Myers Award for Excellence, in recognition of his prostate cancer work in the State of Alabama.

WebMD the Magazine honored UHF founder and President Dr. Thomas Moody as one of its 2011 Health Heroes. According to WebMD, these awards are intended to "celebrate visionary Americans who met a health challenge and gave back to others in an inspiring way."

On Saturday, April 29, 2017, the Tour de Blue celebrated its 10th anniversary! The goal of this annual bicycle ride was to promote awareness about the importance of early detection for prostate cancer, and to raise funds for the Urology Health Foundation's free screenings across Alabama.

  • The Foundation was originally formed to educate physicians and other medical professionals in new techniques and procedures in the field of urology. It was initially named the Urology Centers of Alabama Educational Foundation.
