Tour de Blue Discontinued
But the Work of the UHF Goes On
Urology Health Foundation
After ten years of holding the Tour de Blue cycling event, the Urology Health Foundation has decided to discontinue the ride.
The Health Foundation would like to thank all the sponsors, cyclists, and volunteers of the Tour de Blue who supported and participated in the event over the last ten years, and made it all possible. The Foundation would also like to thank Pixie Hicks for allowing the Tour de Blue to be part of the Alabama Backroads Century Series. Her constant encouragement and her tireless efforts have made the Alabama Backroads Century Series and the Tour de Blue a truly unique riding experience. It has been an honor to be a part of the Series.
While the Tour de Blue is in the history books, our work at the Urology Health Foundation most assuredly is not. We will continue our work in fighting prostate cancer through our free prostate cancer screenings across the State of Alabama.

Join Us on the
10th Annual Tour de Blue Bicycle Ride
Saturday April 29, 2017
When: The 2017 Edition of the Tour de Blue will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Onsite registration will open at 6:30 AM. The 106, 76 & 50-mile riders will start at 8 AM.
Where: The starting venue for the 2017 Tour de Blue will be Moody High School - Middle School Complex, 714 High School Drive, Moody, Alabama 35004, located just outside Birmingham. Route maps, elevation profiles, cue sheets, and GPX Tracks for each of the three ride options are available at the Tour de Blue website.
Why: The goal of the Tour de Blue bicycle ride is to raise funds to help provide free prostate cancer screenings to the poorest communities in the State of Alabama, and to increase awareness of the importance of early testing and treatment of prostate cancer. Since 2007, the Urology Health Foundation has screened thousands of men for prostate cancer for free in many Alabama counties. If an abnormality is found and the patient is unable to afford treatment, the Urology Health Foundation will assist in helping to find treatment at no cost to the patient.
How you can help: Please come out and ride the Tour de Blue. The courses are scenic, and the rest stops are staffed with happy folks eager to help you enjoy your day of cycling. Your contribution helps those who are at the greatest risk of developing prostate cancer. If you can't ride but want to donate to the Urology Health Foundation, please go to our Donate Page and give any amount you choose. Also, please consider volunteering your time; you can sign up for one of the volunteer positions at SignUp.com or by contacting Sherry Wilson at email@example.com. Thank you!
Who: The Tour de Blue is a bicycle ride that benefits the Urology Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing prostate cancer screenings free of charge to men in Alabama who cannot afford the tests. The ride is presented by Urology Health Foundation and is part of the Alabama Backroads Century Series.
What: There will be several exciting cycling routes offered for the 2017 Tour de Blue, with 106, 76 & 50-mile options. The terrain is rolling, and there are several challenging climbs. There are periodic rest stops on all of the routes that are well stocked with food and drinks. There is full SAG support for all of the riders. Registration fee for 106, 76 & 50-mile participants is: $45 (until 2/28/17); $55 (between 3/1/17 & 4/26/17); and $65 at packet pickup (4/28/17) and on event day (4/29/17). Online registration is available on Active.com, with discounts available for early registration. The cost includes an event t-shirt and lunch.
We are also offering a newly designed Tour de Blue jersey for purchase. This jersey is of excellent quality and is a great way to show your support for the Tour de Blue. For more details, including sizing information, please see the description on Active.com.
